This has been such an interesting time when the majority of the world is staying more time indoors than outdoors. This is a time when focusing on individual health as well as community health should be the priority. There are so many things that you can do while you adjust to this temporary new normal. Here are a few things that you can consider doing to open your mind and boost your spirits:
Start Some Do It Yourself Projects
I recently unpacked a couple of shopping bags full of items that I had bought a couple of years ago while I was vacationing in the States. I those bags, I found some art items that I had forgotten about. I now have those items displayed in my bedroom, and I am so pleased that they are part of my décor! In fact, displaying those pieces of art have made me feel inspired to bring out my hidden inner visual artist and focus on reorganizing and interior decorating.
Learn from Others
Technology is so helpful for people who want to learn something new within their comfort zones. Thank goodness for all of the YouTubers out there who care enough about us to offer do it yourself videos that we ALL benefit from. I actually learned how to unclog my toilet using products that I already have in my home and without having to use a plunger, thanks to YouTube videos. And I am so grateful! Yes, I am grateful for the many individuals such as myself who are vlogging and blogging. Through many of those vlogs and blogs, we gain hope. When someone shares information about their day to day lives, new techniques on how to apply blusher, or how to start a side business working from home with the world, we all benefit. See, when one person shares, other people will follow. And when we all share information it makes the world a much better place.
Plan Your Next Steps
Just when you think that you have everything figured out, everything changes. Can you relate? Of course, you can relate, especially right now. Even though things are not exactly how we probably thought they would be right now, sometimes, we need to stop and think about what it means to finally have the time to be alone with our thoughts and to think. Time to think about who we want to be and what we want to do is priceless precious time that the universe is gifting to us right now. Please treasure this time and do not take it for granted! If there are changes that need to be made, then now is the time to make those changes. If there is perspective that needs to be gained, then now is the time to acquire it. There is no better time than now.
I cannot stress enough how many wonderful surprises can come from unexpected situations. When one thing changes in life, that change can produce multiple changes. I am already seeing those benefits right now. The lessons that we learn during challenging moments teach us a lot about grace, gifts, life, and the importance of making the right choices. Leading today for tomorrow is a sign that I used to see a lot around the city of Mississauga. I like what the message about leading today for tomorrow means. Although we do not know what tomorrow will bring, we all know that we would like to have an even better tomorrow than the one we had yesterday. Here is another quote that I really like a lot: what will you do today that your future self will thank you for? There is always something that we can do today in order to have an even brighter tomorrow.
