Have you ever needed motivation to make your dreams come true, but you were searching for the right time to find the motivation? Well, you are in luck because January 13th is “Make Your Dreams Come True Day.” Just imagine being given the opportunity to dedicate an entire day to bring your dreams to fruition. What should you hope for? Who will you be with? Do you remember the day when your dreams came true? If you are drawing a blank, don’t feel too badly because making a dream come true is not necessarily a priority for a lot of grownups. However, today is the perfect day to change that. Not only do you DESERVE to make your dreams come true, you NEED to make your dreams come true.
Being a dreamer isn’t easy, because you risk becoming disappointed when your attempts at making your dreams come true, well, don’t come true. That’s right, not IF your attempts don’t come true, but WHEN your attempts don’t come true. Life is full of twists and turns, high points and low moments, and rain as well as sunshine. But, believe me when I tell you that somehow, some way, and some day, you will see some of your dreams come true. You might actually see ALL of your dreams come true. The reason why I know this is because I have seen many people including myself, family members, friends, and acquaintances see their dreams come to fruition. Through those experiences, it has become crystal clear to me that a dream is more than just a wish that your heart makes; a dream is a seed planted in your soul from your Creator. A dream that persists is something that you are meant to achieve when you focus and get right to work on it.
How do you dream? Well, I’m glad that you asked. You probably have been silently wondering how to even get to that first step of figuring out what your dreams even are. The first step is spending time alone with your thoughts and figuring out what images keep appearing in your mind. For instance, I always dreamt about myself doing the exact things career wise that I do now. When I was a child, I always envisioned myself doing work in the advertising, sales, performing arts, coaching, and media fields. I never dreamt about working as an engineer, and I certainly never dreamt about working as a truck driver, because while those jobs are perfectly honourable, they are not positions that I feel I was called to do.
While I enjoy living out some of my dreams, I still have dreams within those dreams. There is much to do. I used to feel overwhelmed at the idea of even THINKING about making my dreams come true, but I feel encouraged now that I realize that dreams individual for everyone, and also, a dream would not be planted in your heart if you were not specifically meant to achieve it. So, my advice to you about making your dreams come true to is to first see it, speak it, believe it, and create a plan to achieve it. Even if you take small steps each day towards making your dream come true, that is a great thing and you should celebrate your steps towards achieve your personal success. And, if you are still trying to figure out what your dream is, you should still celebrate Make Your Dream Come True Day as a time when you are giving yourself permission to realize your destiny and become the person who you were created to be. Cue the confetti and let’s GO! Each person is one decision away from having a totally different life, and that is something to celebrate.
